Robert Zieve, MD

Robert J. Zieve, MD, is an author, lecturer, and physician.  An emergency physician for twenty-four years, he was a Board-Certified specialist in Emergency Medicine and past emergency department director.Dr. Zieve's experience includes:

Dr. Zieve is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He was instrumental in setting up one of the first community programs in the nation for evaluating children for lead poisoning. He helped direct a medical clinic in Green Hills, Ohio.

Dr. Zieve studied homeopathic medicine under the auspices of the National Center for Homeopathy, as well as with several well-known homeopathic medical doctors in Ohio. Dr. Zieve has lectured to local and national groups in both clinical orthodox medicine and holistic medicine for over twenty years. He has taught university courses in clinical anatomy and physiology as well as in body-mind dynamics, taught at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and has given lectures in Integrative Medicine to hospital medical residents. Dr. Zieve has also spoken at educational forums for psychologists and parents in such areas as curative community development, homeopathy, wellness, and holistic home care. Dr. Zieve was a participant speaker in a three-year national educational program for physicians' training in European Biological Medicine.

While practicing integrative medicine in Prescott, Arizona, the Arizona Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association elected Dr. Zieve as their president for the 1998-99 year, and then re-elected him in 1999 for another term. In his term of office, Dr. Zieve initiated programs in patient and professional education of homeopathy and integrative medicine.

Dr. Zieve's books cover subjects such as the psychology of healing, an integrative perspective on the first twenty-one years of life, and how we may create an economy for healing. In these books, Dr. Zieve explores the positive and transformative qualities of illness, while suggesting and demonstrating creative ways to approach the reality of illness in contemporary society.
